1200 Suspension Settings

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by SteveR1, Dec 14, 2017.

  1. Hello,
I have a 2014 Multistrada 1200S Touring, which I love 3rd Ducati (2No: ST3 & 4S previously ), have had it for two years already. Here's my problem, I'm vertically challenged and use Daytona built up boots which are fine. However when riding in traffic it would be good to be a bit closer to the road surface with both feet on the ground. I want to know how to make the suspension as soft as possible ( maximum sag) in Urban mode. I am thinking that will lower the bike and as I only use Urban for slow traffic situations I'm not too bothered about the handling. Any views most welcome.

  2. It does.

I have mine set at min preload rear and low front. Its all accessed from your menu off the left hand buttons (from memory - my DVT is different) and set by a number. lower the number, softer the suspension on preload

On an S with skyhook, of course, assuming thats what you have

Its all in the user manual ;)

  3. Is there an opportunity to have the settings stay the same BUT use a custom seat maker who can lower the seat height whilst at the same time making it more comfortable say with a heavier foam/gel pads etc?

  4. From my experience, if the low seat is fitted, its borderline lacking in comfort anyway as they simply remove padding. Maybe narrowing seat with good padding could help, but suspension of free ;)

  5. Thanks I thought it was the right thing to do, I wasn't sure which was softer ( higher or lower numbers ) I have the low seat but agree that they just remove the padding and it gives you bum ache after a couple of hours, so I have gone back to the original seat. I'll try the changes and let you know how I get on. Thanks again for the reply. SteveR1

  6. Thanks for the reply, I'm a bit reluctant to buy another seat, I already got the lowered Ducati one, which is just harder and not much lower. I think the suspension setting changes will be right, so I'll give that a go.
    Thanks for the reply SteveR1

  7. You could have the short sear reprofiled, so it’s narrower but thinker in the arse area. IME the multi is quite wide, which places shorter legs out not down. Upholsterer could sort that without buying a seat
