  1. As above gents...clutch needed it's 1k service but on this occasion I need to get the whole lot out...I'm at this point...

But the central drum is stuck...I don't want to force anything so any advice on how to draw that out...? Or does it just need a rubber mallet to gently shock it to dislodge?

  2. Yep, you've removed your centre nut so the centre section should just pull out exposing the 8 x bolts that hold the clutch drum in place.

It does look like you still have a washer on the centre shaft, is this holding it on? A gentle tap should do it.

Not a slipper, but the same principle.

  4. I'm now at this point...if I try to pull the basket I get about 2mm of movement outwards then it's like it hits something and stops..

  5. Sorry...pic... at this point...

  6. Again, it should pull off. I'm assuming it's sticking due to wear on the basket / shaft.

Try knocking it in a rotational direction to free it.

  7. Yeah.. it's like it's hitting something...weird...

  8. Can you spin the basket ? Andy

  9. Got it...used the rubber mallet and knocked basket round a bit then it came loose...

  10. Question gents...how worn is that basket....should I replace while it's out...?

  11. Good pictures. The basket doesn't look too bad tbh. Was your springy spider thing snapped at all? Done this job twice and on both occasions the spider spring was bust.

  12. Ah, that's better. Bit more worn than I thought. Not too terrible but I'd change it whilst stripped.

  13. Spider is ok...ironically I just got a 20% discount thing through eBay...so I might get one anyway but keep it spare for when I need it...

  14. Ok. I'll get one on order...reason for all this is to fit this...

    Which is behind the clutch...

  15. Subscribed....

  16. Where does that fit? Is it behind the clutch casing?
    What does it do exactly?
Interested to know as I haven’t heard of this bit of kit.

  17. Next question...I'm guessing the side is kinda glued on with the gasket stuff...can't see any tabs to get behind it...is there a knack?

  18. I take it you are talking about the engine casing?

DO NOT try to force it. Go around a few times with a rubber mallet and take your time. It will be held together with sealant, once you break the seal, it'll be OK.

  19. Ok...just gonna have to keep working at it...!
