I don't want to put a downer on the thread but SWMBO is always a tad subdued as her dad died 30 odd years ago on NYE.
Few early pints with the tea time crowd in the next village along from us and then a night in with the dogs and eldest daughter, along with a Chinese with Mrs M when she finishes work at 8. We'll also be fast on come mid night and feeling much better than most on New Years Morning. I've always enjoyed Xmas eve much more than new years eve,much better night in the local pubs.
