You have to ask yourself, Why ? but then then as the article says, there had to be alcohol involved. Andy
I saw that van on a couple of occasions, sounded great to us young lads running around in Ford Anglia's. Steve
But perhaps what we remember them most fondly for is just shoving a massive engine in something that really didn’t deserve it. Like the time they put a 5.0-litre V8 in a Mk1 Transit. Lord only knows how these things come about, but we’re pretty sure alcohol was involved. a local garage (to me) that specialized in rally car prep had one as a support vehicle with a tuned V6 fitted. the word was it was quicker round the stages than many of the cars.
I wonder what happened to Guy Martins Transit he took out to the states to do that time trial in? Didn't that get a V8? Nasher.
Renault put anF1 engine in a scenic people carrier. Back in the late 70's there used to be a JCB with a massive petrol engine that did demo runs at the GP
Or the Mk1 transit with a mid mounted Merlin - was a test bed before it went into 'the beast' I think it was called. A mustang with Rolls Royce grille in the 70's. 150 mph on the M1 was the story: in the van.
I remember the Merlin. We created a Top Trump card for it when I were a school lad. No, I don't know why we did that. It was cool though.
235bhp ! ,I always thought they were 300 standard, them sprinters live in the fast lane normally about a foot away from your rear bumper and always covered in shit, why don't sprinter owners ever clean there vans ?
Didn't know it was your Audi in my lane! Once you've overtaken (eventual) you can actually move back into a left hand lane.
????????? Did you not read the highway code , lane 3 is reserved for Audi's ,Bmw's and sprinter vans anything else is fair came for tailgating.
