considering replacing my pretty sad looking rad on the RR track bike. A new rad from Honda is around £500 notes ! I can get a copy rad on eBay for £89 ... what would you do... To me a rad is a rad providing everything is in the same place Thoughts?
A number of forum contributors have had good experiences with Chinese copies but not sure which manufacturer though. Andy
I know when looking for a bird rad, many of the chinese ones said 96-2007 fitment but the bird went from carb to injection from late 98 and so have 2 slightly different sizes and shapes, so make sure they are year/correct model specific rather than a generic one will fit all years. Those who have bought chinese that I know of seem quite happy with them., some might have needed a little dremelling on the mount holes but most were a good fit.
This is the one I’ve seen... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/332453822481 Looks like a radiator....
20 unhappy customers in 2000 transactions all on a similar theme, they are crap to deal with when you are unhappy and don’t speak English. Might be worthwhile spending a little time having a look at a few suppliers. Andy
Much better feed back but postage and import duties from the US are outrageous. Add 10% + VAT to the cost. @Robarano, which supplier did you use ? Andy
To be fair even his advert says he gets his stock from overseas so it's probably china Our manufacturers overseas are required to follow strict Quality Control Procedures designed and written specifically by EM to ensure all of our products exceed the demands of the American consumer On the first one by the delivery date, thurs, it looks like these are already in the U.K. and it seems to be from Chadderton which is Oldham? so if there is a problem there should be a quick replacement on such a popular bike. Have you tried the cbr600rr forum? or a race forum for 600 Honda's? for recommendations/suggestions?
