Jeez this weather is awful. I haven't been out on my bike since October now. TBH I am a fair weather pleasure rider if the truth is known, any sign of rain and I aint riding!! I am seriously looking forward to March/April time, when lighter nights start coming back, the roads are dry, and generally the appeal of riding is greater for me. A sunday blast to Barmouth via Bala, then back home over the tops via Blaneau and calling in Betws Y Coed. Now that's what I yearn. Global warming, I think I'll smash a few more fridges up to accelerate the process cos I'm bleedin freezing. Stuart
tell me about it .. have had my ducati in the garage since the day i bought it on the 1st december .. never even had it in gear. Also had my Honda nsr 50 back from rolling road tuning in early November .Not riden that yet either.
You Vandal,,, i with you all the way on this one,,park up end of oct kick off march time,,sounds like you have great road runs?
Yeah I like riding through Wales, or the Lakes, or anywhere nice really. Last year me and my mate also on a Diavel went out whenever we could, we do like the run to Barmouth though. Nowt better than arriving, everyone looking to see what the F is making all that noise. Sitting down on the harbour, with a shandy and fish n chips. Does it get any better? I actually went to Rivvy Barn last sunday, took the missus and one of our Bull Terriers in the car. I was pleasantly surprised how many bikes were there, braver than me must be said. Stuart
I can do cold but I can't do rain or wet roads (well maybe the wet roads if the traffic is bad) but it gets a good clean the same day if I do. Gonna be sunny but cold tomorrow so I'll be on something with two wheels.
Well, if Friday is good I may take a midday wander out, first ride in probably 3 months. Be rusty....me and bike probably
I go past Gloucester every week seems better Hope so I'm in Clifton today moving gear to Newcastle hope the snow stops See plenty of bikes around Bristol at the moment but traffic is bad coming off m5 m32 into town and they can use the bus taxi lane which helps a lot
Sorry Stuart that have any measurable effect. Despite what Google might say R134a hasn't been used for years. Most domestic fridges use R600a, aka Butane. It has zero ozone depletion potential and a super low global warming effect, with an index of just 3 (3 times the effect of carbon dioxide ). The nice thing about Butane, like it's sister propane (R290) it's quickly broken down in the atmosphere with a few weeks. If you want to warm up just release this in an enclosed space and have a fag.... I was hoping writing all this out would make me sleepy..wrong!
You can have some of our feckin' sun if you like, highest ever recorded temp in Invercargill 2 days ago, 32.3*C, then 30*C yesterday, a relatively mild 23*C today, but anything over 15*C and I find it uncomfortable.
Yep.... I have to know some really boring shit in my game.... never use it day to day, just in our 2 year exams/licensing...
Leak check, new dryer and a quick refresh..... technically car ac is very easy .... I'm just the wrong shape to get in tight spaces. It's also a different license ...(much easier exam for grease monkeys like @finm ).
no exam required if yer naturally talented. just a bit of confidence in yer diagnostic skills if yer contemplating pulling a dash at a customers cost, rather than a business cost. modern comfort systems aint simple unless thats what you do full time. r134 as far as i am aware is still used on cars today, it changed mid 90s from sumit else. been away from the dealerships for a few years now so starting to fall behind on the tech, i pulled a seized AC pump on a 4year old Chrysler yesterday, (si the cock through a sicky) the label on the rad cowling clearly states r134a. not that its needed at the mo, biking seems so far away still. got thick snow on the path.
