So I went to my dealer for yet another warranty fix the other day and they lent me the new 1260 for a test drive. Personally, I loved the quick shift and the new engine is definitely more "predictable" - however I conferred with another 1200 DVT rider at the dealer and while on paper the new engine is better in every aspect of our standard 1200, we both agreed we quiet like our uncivilised monster of an engine. That pulls the easy £8k the upgrade would have cost us :-| Anywho - the one thing that blew me away was the new screen layout - I love it! It feels like a complete revamp and makes the bike feel completely new! While the mechanics are pretty much the same I wondered if anyone knew of an option to upgrade our framework to the new system so we can have those great graphs / layouts? I hate that Ducati couldn't figure out a way to use the "up and down" buttons for the engine set ups and instead you have to continue to press 'menu' which they clearly fixed now. Would welcome fellow riders' thoughts on this!
The dash will be tied to the ECU ... So unless you could swap the entire lot, I would doubt it could be done.
Dash will be tied to SCU, IMU and ECU, and therefore the engine too. Not a snowball's chance in hell.
