Afternoon, im fitting a new shock as it came with my bike but wasn't fitted by previous owner, luckily he's the same weight so spring is correct and has the build card with it... Anyway, which way does it go? as stupid as this sounds the stickers on it suggest one way but im sure its the other with previous bikes I've worked on. Not sure if single swing arm makes a difference or owt. Have a look and confirm either im right or the stickers are installed wrong which id be shocked at as they hand make them?!! Thanks Stu.
Looking on eBay they all seem to be the same as Exige bike, best bet would be to call Nitron. DUCATI 848/1098/1198 (08-12) Nitron R1 Shock + HPA DUCATI 848/1098/1198 (08-12) Nitron R2 Shock + HPA Even one for a 350lc NITRON SHOCK ABSORBER YAMAHA RD350 LC YPVS 1983-1996 NTR R1 Road Street Personally i would say the sticker is upside down.i was going to get a Nitron for a 350lc i owned, looks like your one has ride height adjuster (the end your hand is touching) from memory it was 7mm adjustment which = 14mm at the rear height for the LC, check for your one.
Appreciate the reply guys, after some more googling turns out its bit of a ducati issue that they build them this way due to the mounting points of the frame/swing arms being incased into the swing arm itself. They make the screw shaft longer so the c spanner/supplied bar can be adjusted. I guess every day is a school day as I was certain the stickers were wrong. Some more looking shows that the scrambler has the spring in this makeup. Thanks again Stu.
