Hi guys , I’m doing 6 days in Almeria next week and need Tyres . I normally use super corsas SC1’s and they’re great... but DONT last. My friends use Bridgestone V02’s and say they’re amazing AND they last... I just want know If NOT using a pirelli will affect the bikes electronics or anything else . This seems like s strange question but I’m new to Ducati... sorry...
There have been a number of similar posts which the new forum search function should find for you. However, paraphrasing what most have found, a change of profile (not tyre manufacturer) can have an affect on the traction control set on medium to high settings but tend not to at low settings. Almeria has an abrasive surface and can shorten tyre life for the more focussed rider. I’m a Metzeler fan and use their Ractec RR on my 1098R and tend to go for the endurance K3 compound for life over ultimate grip although good enough for mid 1:40s (not me but an ex endurance racer mate).
