  1. Six new episodes of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy have been released. If you wish, you can listen to them on iPlayer - if not, well it's not the end of the world.

Incidentally here is a link to the Journey of the Sorcerer:

  3. Interesting, but its not Douglas. I'm an HHGTTG fundamentalist.

  4. Listened to Hitchhiker 40 years ago when I was 11 and it was first serialised on radio 4 with Peter Jones as "the book". Tuned in avidly with my Dad for every episode and thought it was one of the funniest and smartest things I'd ever heard. Though the TV version 20 years later was a bit of a travesty.

Many years later I reread the original book. The wit and cleverness was still fresh but for some reason I found the story strangely depressing and couldn't finish it.

Still a big fan of Douglas Adams though. An highly original genius of the Wodehouse school of belly laughs who managed to be thought-provoking as well and a thoroughly good and inspirational human being.

  5. Anyone watching the Avengers. Serious amounts of party food taken during the making of that

  6. Aah!But whats the question?

  7. Maybe I'll read an Artemis Fowl book first. Then if I adjudge the author to be okay, I'll reconsider.

Ive read and re-read all of them. Umpteen times. Inc the Dirk Gently series. He is my all time favourite author.
