What Air Filter ? Panigale 1299s

  1. I’ve been trying to decide on what Performance airfilter to purchase and wanted to know what you guys have bought and performance gains you have seen. I’ve been told that the MWR filters are the best...
Don’t people use K&N any more?

  2. I use Sprint filters in my 1098R. If they are good enough for a BSB Panigale, they’re fine for me. Andy

  3. Sprint were supplied with the termis when a air filter came as Part of the exhaust upgrade .

  4. BMC as I use the same in the 996 without issues circa 60 uk pounds

  5. What improvements have you guys seen ?

  6. Sprint filter here too. No noticable power gain and don't think there is with any of them but as said in the previous comment, they're proven in competition and from a punters point of view, they're easy to clean and last forever apparently !

  7. i put a k&n on mine after 7000 miles the OEM filter was a mess so changed it for a re-usuable one. I doubt there would be much difference between any of them to be honest.

  8. @Kaspar, what’s to disagree with about my post or was it fat finger syndrome ?

  9. I prefer to use Sprint now as they're dry. I've used K&N for years, still do on some jobs, but the later gen bikes are using sensors, MAP and MAF in the intakes. The oil on the K&N, or Pipercross, can get drawn in the air stream and onto these sensors and bugger them up. Not a huge issue, but it's there. Cars have suffered with oiling up MAF sensors for a while when using "induction kits", it's a similar problem.
If you do use an oiled filter, I'd suggest giving them a real good pat down with paper towel before fitting as they're oiled quite heavily from new.

  10. If it was me I’d go for sprint but honestly filters make bugger all difference.

You may get a little if you map it to suit (arguably you should map it anyway ?)

Remember also, generally speaking higher flow means less filtration

  11. Yes sorry , must of hit by accident ‍♂️

  12. :upyeah:
