Hi, I’m a new (Belgian) member to the forum. I recently (finnaly!) bought a 998bip MY2002. My plan is to set it back in stock condition. Currently I’m still searching an original heat shield and biposto riders seat. I’ve bought an original riders seat with matching part number but it seems it was produced in 1998. When I installed that one it looks like there is a gap (app. 1,5cm) between the seat and the tank. So if someone can help me out with the last parts I’m looking for that would be nice!
Hi VtwinDave its exactly what I’m looking for of it has part nummer 460.1.111.1A on it. A shame it has the scratch on it.
Part number for the seat should be 59510501B which has a mid grey textured vinyl cover (like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-OE...-Drivers-Seat-PN-59510501B-Grey-/202214636061 or this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-SUPERBIKE-12-59510501B-SELLA/272961412257?hash=item3f8dc49ca1:g:qqsAAOSwevdaH38Q ) , you probably got a 59510291A? Both should fit, are you sure the seat and seat hinge are fitted properly? It hinges and slides forward slightly as you close it, if the seat catch is not in correctly or the seat pads are set incorrectly it will not slide into its proper position
No part number on it , it has a small wear mark on it but easily sprayed as cookster said it came off my 16 year old 998 . If you fancy doing a swap for your carbon one let me know
Denzil, thanks for the explanation and links. I Will have to double check on the hinge, but when I fitted it all stemde to be in place. The position of the Biposto fairing is in the same place as before... Concerning the links, do you (or anyone) has any experience with Cabutti_motor on eBay? When parts are put fur sale with soley a picture from the part catalogue I always tend not to thrust it. Thanks
Yep, I bought one earlier but it didn’t fit properly...seemed it was one of the earlier models. The one that “Denzil the Ducati” describes earlier in this thread is the one I’m after.
Hiya, I have pretty much all of those parts you need; seat, exhausts, shields, mudguard, clutch cover etc. I'm 20mins from Geneva if that's helpful and will put up photos if you let me know what you need?
I’m still looking for the correct Seat of a 998bip of 2002. Already bought one wrong one... The original of the 998 is a grey one. As Denzil the Ducati stated earlier in this thread it’s a 59510501B instead of a 59510501A.
im guessing your after the compleate seat unit and not just the pad?? the part number on mine is 483.1.0221a
