i have found myself the leovince decat pipe to fit with my stubby termi. I would like to know is it plug n play or am I better to have it re tuned?
I ran the LV decat pipe with the OE end can and felt that the exhaust sensors were richening up the fuel to compensate but gave in and got a remap about 6 months after fitting. Bike performed a lot better after the remap and 20,000 or so miles later it’s still performing Andy
A decat with the near empty Termi stubby? That end can was meant to run with a noise absorbing cat, it'll be obscene with the stubby mate? Decat needs the longer Termi or an end can with some noise suppression baffling or it will be REALLY loud.
Doh! I don’t mind some noise but. I had a full 70mm system on my 1098, are we saying louder than that? I better keep saving for the longer pipe
Direct comparison, my 1098R with full 70mm race system is a mellow slightly disappointing BOOM that should be louder than it actually is. My 1st gen, 1200 Multistrada with LV decat and OE end can is a different kettle of fish, up around 7k rpm it has a harsh infectious edge that is just shouty LOUD. Loud enough to be heard accelerating hard about a mile away. Andy
I got around to fitting the LV decat at the weekend- also have termi slip-on . It is quite loud , but no louder than my Diavel with a Remus slip-on without baffle Ordered the optional baffle for the LV in case I decide its too loud ...
Fitted the baffle and it’s sounds nice .... will get it tuned now (I have the Tuneboy system) and compare performance with and without the baffle as I seem to recall CJ posting that the baffle had a negative effect on power
It does have a negative effect... tested Leo Vince on a Dyno..... I only fitted the baffle if I was going out with a group for the day.
