748 Rear Hub

  1. Evening all, nice to get out to J&S for a breakfast and a ride today.

Talking to somebody there telling me if I turn the rear wheel hub (chain adjuster cam) 180 degrees it sits the rear of the bike down more for comfort?

Is this just BS? Or does he actually have a point? Thank you

  2. It will also make it harder to turn the bike.

  3. Understandably.

  4. And your chain/sprocket will run against the chainguard...

  5. No no then lol.

  6. Bike has a proper ride height adjuster if you want to play around with it.

It's the clip ons that make the bike less comfortable. You can either turn those upside down or look at the Ducabike adjustable bars. Either will mean less of a drop on the bars.

  7. Mine has renthal bars on. Might look at the adjuster tomorrow. Good idea. Don’t plan on any long mileage jaunts anyway lol

  8. It will almost certainly be difficult to release. They have a habit of seizing so soak it well first.

  9. Top advice. Thank you very much.

  10. People have and yes you can. Far better, though, to reduced via the ride height bar and lower the forks in the clamps. Beware, too low and the front wheel can hit the rad under heavy braking (even worse if a rad guard is fitted)

  11. Thanks mate. Lower the forks? Won’t that push you further forward again?

  12. You have to keep a balance really, so if the rear is lower, and you don’t do the front, it will make te steering very different

  13. Sorry for my ignorance but looking at the height adjuster is fully off anyway isn’t it?
