Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by David Hales, Apr 14, 2018.

  1. ok any quick fix sight front indicator not working, I have swapped the fronts round and it’s not the indicator, rear one is working?

  2. David, which bike and can you be a little more descriptive in your request?

  3. Can only be the bulb or the wiring if the rear works I'd say.

  4. Not the bulb as I have tried it on the other side and it works the other side

  5. GT1000, I think I will splice into the wire behind the connector to see if the connector has broke

  6. Check the bulb seat first and then check for voltage on the +connector and earth continuity on the bulb socket. Usually a problem at the connector on the wires/plugs but could be a broken conductor in the cable hence the metre checks

  7. As said above, I have tried it on the other side and it’s fine, so has to be the wiring or socket or something simple

  8. Could well be a dodgy connection/connector

  9. Have you tried the bulb one way then turn it round the other way? sounds silly I know but I've had a bike do that to me before.

  10. I had a kinked wire that stopped a neutral light working, took a while too find as it was caught behind a bit of plastic.

  11. David, perhaps you could tell me where I suggested it was the bulb that at fault, all that I advised relates to the bit where the bulb plugs into the fitting and its wiring

  12. Was a reply to me I think. My point was these are pretty simple circuits.

  13. I have led indicators, I have fixed it now, bad connector, so replaced it, all good now
