Only me.... Can you help the elderly with no idea techno wise please.. All is not well in my space ship at present... I’ve an HD tv on a Virgin galactic signal... it records all the HD channels just fine except and most importantly Eurosport HD... it records but it plays back as a scrambled mess... me thinks it’s somthing to do with interference from our neighbours ( Millwall ) Also.. The missus has a I phone 5s with a hotmail e mail account... her address is basically her name ect... but lately she’s been getting bombarded with unwanted crap in her iInbox ( sounds rude) however although it’s getting through to her it’s not exactly her address it’s always slightly incorrect??? How is this poss and how can it be stopped pls.. Muchly thanks to you and your techno thinkings... appreciated .. x
Try complaining to Virgin. They may give you a new box Also, you could try the computer trick of switching off and unplugging for a while to reset everything. Shouldn't be difficult to block emails. If they are from a kosher site but unwanted newsletters etc, there should be an unsubscribe facility somewhere at the bottom.

I thought hotmail was good with unwanted emails Sometimes I get the odd slip through but overall they go in my junk mail and so does my genuine ones at times Has she been clicking on the unwanted mails?
On the e mails... She’s getting not nice stuff which is bad enough but and more worryingly they are getting to her junk mail and some to her inbox however, this is the important bit... For instance... say it was my account and my address was.. [email protected] Well, they are getting through to the above e mail address even though they are sending them to similar e mail addresses and NOT the correct one as above.. So they perhaps are for example they are sending them to [email protected] ( incorrect but close) however they are getting through to the correct planetnoodle address .. Hope that makes sense ish to you luvly normal humanoids ... x
I think I know what you mean I have had an email sent it seems to a number of recipients with a similar name I click on the senders email and usually it has some thing other than say Barclays Bank I delete them without reading them Not sure how it works it’s almost like an algorithm on names How to stop it I have no idea as my hotmail seems to manage to junk them and anything in junk just gets deleted without looking
