I did spot that, but with lots of recorded low mileage failures I decided a new one would make better long term sense. Lets just hope that new and improved item is better than the last new and improved one... The engine only has ~10k miles...FFS! Just need to separate the flywheel now!
you are quite right - I have no idea how much a late sprag etc will cost so may of been worth a shot, let us know if you find a good price/alternative ?
No cheapie available for the 1098 big boy that I can find :frown: Had to take one for the team and cough up £120 for the Ducati part! Where do these prices flippin' come from!?!?! Was someone on here selling an R1?
how's it going Nelson? - with snow outside and blocked up drive this is just as interesting as reading a book for me ! (sad innit?)
Thanks for the interest chaps. torx bits came off with a decent hardened bit and bar All ready for postie now. was reading the workshop manual for this process , what a giggle! Reads like an MFI manual for a wardrobe!
New bearing all fitted  Just waiting for Mr 3 Bond to go off ..Lord knows when that will be these temps!
I did Brian... I have an oil splattered bike/face to prove... Just tried again, she fires up and engages like a champ...although I think I have a little oil leak...Agggggghhhhhhhh...!!! Thanks to all that guided through this latest trauma....X
Mate, how could you not have seen it? I'm the biggest photo whore on here... Yup - 848, fooking brilliant machines! Since I 'finished' her last year...(Pic number one), I've added a few bits...
I did look for some, you need to get snapping again mate....new stuff but no photos you must be slacking! Ha Ha.. Nice going though mate you've done a good job.
Thanks Arf' Perhaps some new pics showing off her nice new bearing... This may be of interest to anyone else with the same issues... DUCATI Flywheel Fly Wheel 916 ect new | eBay
Do you chaps use threebond on the water pump housing? I'm using 1104 and it has sealed the casing ok, but when used on the water pump housing it seems to revert back to liquid/goo when hot! I've read the spec and it should be good at normal running temps. Thanks again.
Well no amount of Threebond, Ducbond or flippin' Brooke bastard Bond would seal down the thermostat housing... I can now reveal that the cardboard from a Jordan's muesli box makes a very effective gasket material...
Funny that......gasket paper has the same sealing qualities too, wonder what it's like for keeping the muesli in check.
