Dovi Turns Down Ducati Contract

A reasonable article which IMO, accurately identifies the iniquitous pay gap between Dovi and Lorenzo. Come on Ducati, in hindsight, you made a huge error in judgement when you employed Lorenzo, don’t lack foresight and make another one with Dovi. Andy

 

I can't believe they haven't already taken steps to correct the gap, at least to reduce it, they are getting Dovi pretty cheap given what he delivered last year!

 

Just pay the man what he wants as he's good for ducati business

 

To play devils advocate, Lorenzo still has 5 world championships under his belt, 2x250's and 3 MotoGp. All Andrea has is 1, 125 title.

Obviously Dovi's form on the Ducati is currently much MUCH better but I would have thought your CV counts for something.

I love Dovi, think he's great but I don't think he's got it in him to beat Marquez. Seems with the offers they are putting out, Ducati agree. Let's hope Dovi proves me wrong, winning the WC will leave his bosses with little argument.

 

They should pay him what he wants, we saw the same with stoner in that ducati make motorcycles that very few riders can get the best of and jlo ain't one of them so when one does come along, keep him. I don't know where else he would go at the moment as many contracts seem tied up?

 

I think you are right. If Dovi is certain that everyone is wrong and he is capable of winning the series, he should take the offer with massive bonuses for each win and an even bigger one for taking the title.

 

Seems like he is the ONLY rider with it in him to beat Marquez on a regular basis over the last season and a bit.

 

Certainly seems worth more than JLO especially when it turns damp.
