999/749 reservoir swap.

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Nelson, Jan 23, 2013.

  1. Anyone tell me how easy/hard it is to swap a 999/749 clutch reservoir over to the remote style?
    Parts needed?

    Cheers...:upyeah:

  2. Clutch tastic mate...:upyeah:

  3. The biggest issue is what to do with the reservoirs as its about 100 notes for the reservoir kit including the brackets (both sides).

Thing is you can get aftermarket stuff for that sort of money but it just depends on what look your after.

A cheap option is to find a bracket that will mount from the pinch bolts or get busy in the shed with a sheet of Alu :upyeah:

  4. Yr right....I had quite shock when I bought my brembo brake MC minus the reservoir bracket, couldn't believe the price!

Plan is to (hopefully) use my old 748 reservoir and make a bracket/holder.

  7. If you buy the reservoirs, tubes and elbows and make the bracket yourself it only costs about a tenner per side. It really is a simple job.

  8. Landed one from an Aprila complete with remote...:upyeah:

Summer better come soon or I'll have no money for petrol!

  9. from a mille?

  10. RSV 1000 R

  11. Ktm Rc8's also use very similar stuff as do the superdukes.

Always got my eye out for stuff :upyeah:

  12. Should be ok, although the lever may have to be changed as apparently the adjuster may foul the trip knob.

    Bike modding heaven...!
