Gt1000 Oil Light

  1. Hi guys, hoping someone can help here.I've got a 2010 gt1000 with 40,000kms on the clock and oil is changed every 5000kms or less.I've checked the oil level which is normal and clean, there are no oil leaks. My problem is that on a ride today the oil light came on briefly for a few seconds at normal road speeds then went off.As i was only three kms from home i rode it there while watching the oil light come on occasionally for a few seconds although it did'nt come on at idle. What do you think the problem may be? thanks in advance

  2. Sorry guys it's the EOBD (yellow) light that is doing that...what is it??

  3. It’s the engine management light highlighting a possible problem. Chances are it’s generated an error code. On your model you need to download the error code by connecting to the ECU. If close to your local dealer they can do this. Alternatively purchase an OBD2 cable with the FIAT cable allowing connection to the ECU. Got mine from lonelec. Download the jpdiag software and connect to ECU. Chances are you have a 5 IAW ECU so you need to request a code from the software provider. Once fully working you can download and reset error codes amongst other useful things for servicing. I’m sure there are more knowledgeable people on this site regarding the software. Worked a treat for me.
