Paypal Ebay Scam No 224

  1. Just sold a piece of Garmin kit, Buyer paid with paypal whom deducted 4 odd %. First time ever in 10 odd years and scores of sales. What dodge did I miss or is the buyer trying it on

  2. If not a Friends and Family payment then PayPal charge for the transaction. All Ebay Sales have a PayPal fee deducted, then circa 10% deducted from Ebay on a monthly charge. It's always been this way?

  8. Why do you guys all use paypal? It's probably the most expensive payment facility on the market and their forex fees are criminal at best!

  16. They did a great marketing job , coupled with the mandatory use on eBay a few years ago , and it’s v convenient for buyers , who pay nothing in fees
    What do you use?

  19. If I'm buying via e-bay uk, which is very rare, I'll contact the seller directly and arrange to pay in sterling via Transferwise (which I also use for paying UK based sellers on here. If I'm buying elsewhere and the seller can't take a card payment, I'll send a cheque in the post. I haven't been scammed yet.
I'm voting with my feet, if more did that it would eventually have to evolve or disappear!
