Lorenzo To Retire?

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by scouse mouse, May 24, 2018.

  1. Apparently the deal is already done... The cogs at the rumour mill are spinning faster than ever.

  3. If he didn't crash there's several current Moto GP riders that would give him a hard time
Stoners GP career wasn't long enough for him to be considered a great

  4. Interview on Motogp.com with Lorenzo and Rossi. Jlo came over as much more human than I remember.

Anyways, it looks like a good move for him, HRC, and the sport.

Get ready to duck though, toys, pram, dummy all ready for a good kicking if HRC cannot get the 'right shape' petrol tank and make the bike work 'properly' . No more sulking allowed Jlo!! :innocent:

  5. Maybe he made the new stuff on his Ducati tank himself and its a bolt on mod for any bike he rides?

  6. Stoner did crash alot in his early days.. amusing that he gave Simmo a hard time about crashing and being dangerous...

  7. Yep, Simmo stirred things up in a good way.

  8. Think I described Marquez as the love child of Simoncelli for his bravery and lack of self-preservation, Rossi for his tactical aptitude and Stoner for the raw talent.

  9. I'm still not convinced that Honda is the best move for him. The man has built his technique and personal style on edge grip, Long sweeping lines and stability.

    Everything that Honda isn't.

Could it be the media speculating more so than it being fact?

  10. is this a move by the motogp organisers to get more bums on seats:thinkingface:

  11. I gained a chunk of respect for the guy when he invited the designer of his helmet onto the rostrum at the Catalan GP in 2013. She has Downs Syndrome but works, I believe, for a Downs charity doing design work. The girl was completely thrilled to be there. The helmet sold at auction for almost €30k which went to her charity. I know the GP riders do charitable stuff but this was pushing it into the limelight.

I hope he gels with the Honda and provides some great racing in 2019.

  12. I think it’s a good move. Makes for another unpredictable season ( maybe :D) . Moto GP is certainly never boring.

  13. Forget the racing... this silly season is very exciting :joy:

  16. will Pedrosa retire or will he go to tech 3 KTM or ride for the new satellite Yamaha, if there is one this year

  17. Retire. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes the way of Capirossi and into the Dorna side of things, given his relationship with them and Repsol.

Reckon he would do well at that role too; calm, level headed, knows whats for and what isn't.

  18. Anymore news on Pedrosa?

    What would be his options?

    Bless that little bugger
