Ducati 999s (2003) front r/h calliper leaking

  1. Hi folks, has anyone heard of a problem with Brembo front r/h calliper leaking on a Ducati 999s before. I have had the brake stripped down and all of the seals and pistons are fine but it seems to be leaking fluid from the r/h side only. Any suggestions would be helpful, cheers.

  2. have you checked the banjo junction and bleed nipple (if they're on that side) for leaks?

  3. Hi Chris, Yes mate that has all been checked and it is not down to that so still searching for a solution, cheers.

  4. because they are normally 'good as gold' and the fact you have checked pistons and seals (all O.E.M. parts?) you should be able to get to the bottom of this quite easily. Ruling out a damaged or faulty caliper body, the only other thing it could be is the 'O' rings between the two body halves either leaking or damaged or the mating faces damaged or distorted. Last resort if all else fails for me would be to remove caliper, insert a couple of new pads plus spacer if necessary, and pump away on the hand lever while examining scrupulously!

  5. I think I have the same R/hd calliper issue too on my 999. So if you get to the bottom of this before me I'll be delighted. I noticed the fluid level was down recently and on poking around came across fluid underneath the calliper. No dripping as such, but I noticed the fluid level was down recently and I suspect I have found the problem. Going to need a new seal kit I think and if anyone knows a supplier I would be obliged.
