Overtaking With Double White Lines

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Oli, Jul 7, 2018.

  1. You 'seemingly' deliberately try and antagonise people in most of your responses (mine only upset 3 people :) ), I use one of your previous responses back at you a lil tongue in cheek, you go all sulky. This is what happened here. I'm going for a beer, hope your doing something similar. If your ever in York I'll buy you one :):upyeah:

  4. Technically, it's an offence as soon as any part of your bike crosses the first white line e.g. mirrors creeping over.

  5. You didn't buy me one.

  6. True

  8. What I've noticed is that if you are of american decent, you will try to evade moral norms in foreign lands. Along the lines of "..if you can get away with it, do it!..". Type of mind-sets or when there is no one around they assume we all can do crazy shit & build bombs, plan revenge attacks & bank heists. But once we ride/drive into the next village or town normal civility in sues/resumes.

Which must be really depressing for wild child americans who want to see the world burn. Instead of having good bloody decent morals & standards that don't infer we're all one or two meals away from cannibalism & chaos.

Anyhow the solid white line rules & double white lines rules should be part of a regular online test people should take to keep their licenses (Once every 5-years?). So many rules like the red-X on motorway matrix systems are flouted by car drivers. But lorry drivers like me would face a £300 fine if we drove through them now.

  9. What he said! :):upyeah:

  10. once, when I was 16 on my Aprilia AF1 50, I was going 30-40 in summer traffic coming back from scarborough, I was in and out of the traffic, and crossed many solid white lines to stay flat out (65mph) a TC behind me gave chase, but it was so busy he took 2 miles to catch me on my super moped.
I was only 16, so I had to get a caution from the superintendent , no points.
It amused me he took 2 miles, yet he never questioned the speed of the super ped.
It also amused me he was able to break the law and persue me on solid white lines, which was far more dangerous in a speeding car.
    thats all
