Engine Management Light On

  1. Hi, I’ve purchased the the Panigale V4S and have had the Akrapovic exhaust put on with link pipe, the engine management light is now on, I have no idea how to get the software up mapped to get this off. Because I never purchased the exhaust from a local Ducati dealer, they seem reluctant to help, they have stated I can’t do this because the exhaust was purchased from Ducati online in the US, only they can do it. I think he might be mugging me off. Can anyone pint me in the right direction?

  2. Who did you purchase the bike from?
Who did you purchase the exhaust system from?
Who fitted the exhaust to the bike?
Who is the "local Ducati dealer" and are they official or unofficial?
Do you still have the original exhaust system, and can it be refitted?
Do you have the instructions for fitting the Akra, and were they followed?

It is not easy for anyone to offer advice without any of the relevant info.

  3. There have been some twists to installing the UPMAP on the V4. There is no key supplied anymore, instead the update has to be requested and assigned to the VIN of the bike it's going on. The supplying dealer has to enter the VIN of the bike on the dealer diagnostic system and connect it with their factory order number. Once that is done, I understand that the mapping can then be activated by any dealer. Talk to the supplying dealer and get them to register the system to your VIN and go from there. I haven't done one yet, so have no experience but the info I have seems to follow that route.
It's a ball ache, but that's the way it's been worked out.
