Does the dealer have another make of car within it's used stock that could do a deal with? It does sound like they are charge you full retail on everything to get that price
The estimate is £2.5k for new engine & £2.9k for ancillary parts & labour + vat. They are offering 50% off this.
2.9k for ancillary parts?. plus engine? short motor? its not an old car, 0.9l engine? with plenty room to work around and assuming crank,con rods and pistons are good. 20hrs engine out, (not that you would need to) striped, rebuilt and refitted. 300 max for head repair, valves, guides excreta. 500 on parts, chain kit, head gaskets set, bolts and fluids. i'v just done the same job on a golf, petrol gti turbo. 2010. i done it a lil under priced due to the time it took us to get round to it. 2k all in. anyhoo, easy said, sitting here and not seeing the job, but i am curious, i am gonna price this up tomorrow for future reference if i get the time.
Labour is £1130. All the other bits are just bolts & chain kit etc. She's already pinged email back agreeing, so I'm looking at a Tl000S from my slush fund (can't belive I just typed that on Ducati forum ! ) I

use to work in scrap yard, they still have a lovely metal shear.....but I'm a Mrs would hack it in Hollway.
had a wee look at the book times for this job, pretty dam big for a wee engine, renewing the cyl head 11hrs, which actually means nearer 15hrs plus parts. expensive right enough.
