Abba Skylift Etc. For 1299

  1. Hello, I’m looking at stand options for my 1299 and I quite like the idea of the Abba Skylift. Trouble is I believe it involves cutting the fairing which is a no go for me.
Does anyone know of an equivalent stand that doesn’t need the fairing mod?
I’ve looked at normal paddock stands which I may explore in more detail but a decent one is £150, I’ve got the normal Abba stand but the fairing cut is also needed for this.
The only other way I can see is take the belly pan off every time I use it.
Sorry for another stand thread. Cheers JAT.

  2. :upyeah: Was looking for a picture of a panigale on bricks but no success. o_O

  3. The blurb on the ABBA site states no mods are required.

  4. Didn’t @Jolley have something like this and had to cut the fairing for it to fit?

  5. Thread moved

  6. Due to the stand fixing to the swing arm pivot point a small amount of the belly pan needs removing or the belly pan itself has to come off.
It's annoying as the kit is superb, I looked at the Harris paddock stand but it's £175!

  7. It takes literally 2 minutes to remove the lower fairings so isn’t the end of the world having to do this.

I’ve got the Abbas stand with the front lift beam and worked well when changing the forks.

  8. You can remove the whole fairing off a 999 in 2 minutes, but that was ‘designed’ o_O

  9. I didn’t have the stand, however my fairings had the cutout. Not even noticeable, however another owner who had the stand noticed it on my bike. Just a tiny little semicircle (not even a full semi circle) cut out of one of the edges to expose the piece it slots into.
