This should be put into the Retirement thread, can you afford to put the heating on yet.

 

I contemplated it last night.

Actually my heating is on 100% of the time. My NEST thermostat is set to 17º, but it's been displaying an actual temperature of 20º - 25º for months, so has never kicked in. Last night it felt noticeably cooler and it showed 18º. I thought "Not long now"

However, when entering my meter readings online the other day, I was well in credit, so got over a £100 refund on my account, so I've had a good run.

 

Take a leaf out of the Honey Badger as yesterday he had a tyre warmer on

 

It did cross my mind but I dismissed it immediately.

 

My first big decision is when to switch the pilot light on, it saves a fortune having it switched off all summer.

The heating in the house definitely cannot come back
On until at least October but the heated garage where my bikes live may have to come on and comfort my mistresses soon.
I hate thinking of my bikes out in the cold

Heating came on this weekend, it's set to 20* and the house was cold enough.
Have been reading about the 'Indian Summer' that's reportedly on its way...

 

Yeah it starts on Tuesday at 10.15 on the Asian channel.

 

Indian summer. Wur doomed then. Everytime the press talk about one we have a shit end to the year. Bloody EU probably to blame.
