Didn't take Serena long to play the sexism card when she acted like a twat, throwing tantrums the other day. I don't know how that worked when she was playing a fellow female.
They don't want equality. If they did they would demand the men's money, playing 5 sets and not 3 and not have a separate men's and women's game but would all play each other. How she could accuse the umpire of sexism when both players were female shows her distorted sore loser logic and that's why she has been fined $17,000
She was complaining that a male competitor who had allegedly had coaching from the stands as she was supposed to have had, only got a ticking off where she had points deducted. That was her gripe, and why she was claiming sexism.

As well as calling him a liar, she said she'd make sure he never refereed one of her games again. Was shouting at the ref on court and demanding an apology. A proper diva rant and she needs taking down a peg or 10. She also said she couldn't cheat becasue she's a mommy. Give me strength. She's acted like a spoilt brat and continues to dig herself into a hole.
She called the umpire a thief, said that umpire will never work on a court where she was playing again, accused him of sexism even though only females were playing, smashed her racket up, went over and started raising her voice, shouting and pointing fingers at him with threats of restricted employment. Personally I'd remove the $1.4 million second place award, she broke the rules, made threats, tried to intimidate the umpire and completely ruined the win of a far better player who beat her in straight sets.
All the time while the other player, who was way below her in rankings and beating her, has- to stand aside and wait. Simply a desperate tactic from a desperate person. She’ll be in celebrity big brother next year
By next year Selena will probably be back to winning most tournaments she enters. This was a poor episode imo, but she is an incredible player and on form almost unbeatable. Though my fave female tennis player would be (after the girl in the poster) Steffi Graf.
She behaved like an idiot, but to be fair, plenty of men have behaved like that without receiving the penalties she did....
