I walk my son to school and back every day. He's just hit year 5 so wants to walk on his own now. Think I need a dog.......
I walk 0.7 miles to another pub twice a week and walk back. That's 1.4 miles of walking twice a week..... apart from that... just normal site stuff and up/down ladders. Unfortunately the pub in question does a wicked curry menu, two garlic Nans and a Jalfrezi Chicken..... Don't think I manage to burn it off. Guinness is terrible in there so I drink the imported lager. If you carried me.... you'd burn a few calories
I actually once asked my Doctor "what was the secret to long life?". He thought for a while ........ and then replied "Choose your parents very carefully". Other than that, you can give up smoking, drinking, eating nice stuff, lose some weight etc. etc........ You won't live any longer........but it'll fucking feel like it
Great post, completely agree with the walking part. A brisk walk puts most people at approx 60-70 percent of maximum heart rate ( obviously varies on fitness). This is a great zone for fat burning. Combine it with some countryside & good views along with a decent audiobook & it’s effortless. My cycling & gym work can often lead to imbalances & pain. Walking (& basic yoga) seem to magically neutralise these. It’s cheap & super effective. The little things in between planned excercise are equally important & make a long term difference. This is the point I was trying to make in my earlier post which was nuked.

As a fatty I can confirm that DNA has very little to do with weight. After my accident I lost 25% of my weight, not drinking, not moving/zero exercise and not eating much.... loads of Oxy.... Sadly most of the weight loss was muscle....
