My brother is a keen and very competent golfer but he's also a tight arse. His birthday is coming up soon and I thought I'd buy a dozen decent golf balls So far I've narrowed it down to Titelist Pro V1 £40 Titelist NXT tour 34 Calloway Chrome Soft £29 I know we have some golfers in here so when you have spent more than £5 for a bucket of 100 lake balls, what ones have you chosen AND been happy with?
You can get expensive balls but he may not like them. A bit like tyres, they are a personal feel thing. So unless you know what balls he likes, might be worth getting a voucher for American Golf or something? Or give him some with the receipt incase he feels the need to change them?
I used to play with as many Pro V1s as I could find. Sometime I’d let them stop rolling before I’d find them. I Played off 11 handicap. Jolly make a good points -is he a low handicapper?
Used to play off 12, but lucky to play off 28 at the moment! Although these days I like to win by convincing the other chaps to play poor shots!
Played off 7, my son plays off 5, my wife plays off 13 wee all like pro v1 but there are very good cheaper balls available, as mentioned, it's personal choice. Steve
Sorry I actually meant is the gift recipient a low handicapper -he may appreciate them more. Having said that any reasonable golfer likes playing with a nice ball, and not necessarily a bullet. OGo on, just spoil him!
