Which charger/conditioner please. Not for my Ducati but my Suzi Vanvan. Needs to be attached for several months at a time during the year. My Optimate seems to have given up the ghost. I had a 6v CTEK charger once but it only lasted 6 months (just me or are they any good?). Options are: CTEK mxs, Optimate 4/5 or use the ducati one by attaching the battery cable? Any other options considered. Many thanks.
I'd replace the Optimate charger. I use one on the multi and the other on my VW Campervanvan. Both have never let me down in years, unlike the Ducati one which bit the dust quite early on.
Thanks, that was my thinking. Looks like they have changed the adapter plugs from the old white ones to 2-pin SAE connectors too.
Not an Oxford Oximiser. Mine's never worked properly. Just use a Ring car charger now. Give it a 24 hour trickle charge about every six weeks at most and it's fine.
I've a Oximiser 601 now redundant lying around in the shed. I'd happily let it go for a small sum, your not too far away from me either so I could drop it off
Thanks for the offer Andy but I think i am going go for a CTEK 5. I would have stuck with an Optimate but as the connectors have changed all of my existing leads are redundant.
Have just bought a new Optimate 4 for my new Mutley. Opposite reason to you in that my set-up has the new SAE connectors (fitted LiPo to previous bike and had Optimate LiPo specific charger for that on a long SAE extension to where the bike is stored). Old Optimate III, still works fine but is now redundant after many years of faithful service. Yours if you want it, drop me a PM with your address.
