Those brakes are not an upgrade. They are merely radial versions of the original 996 brakes. A better upgrade would be 4 pad axial calipers on standard forks, in my opinion.
I think it's true that they might command a higher value here (although the cachet of lower miles counts for less here, for obvious reasons). To be fair to the seller, he seems genuine enough, and he's just selling in the market in which we find ourselves.
That's interesting. Presumably there are other calipers which would fit and be an upgrade, like 1*98 ones?
You could install 4 pad radial calipers from 749/999. Also fitted to Aprillia RSV/BMW S1000 etc so plenty around in silver or gold colour.

The most best thing for sale in that advert is the mono posta rear subframe. As everything done to the bike looks to have been done on the cheap, I’m not sure the wheels would be Marchesini Race Mag alloys. I can say that they are most definitely not Marchesini Road & Track Mag alloys as they look nothing like mine. What you see is a prime example of beauty being in the eye of the beholder, aka one of the previous owners who consider their changes up grades and enhancements. Sadly, IMO you can no longer describe that bike as a 996sps. Andy
I wouldn't say better than an r but there definitely special, had lots of carbon parts from the factory updated engine. All numbered to. Last special of the desmoquattro engine as the 996r used the testastreta.
Bidding up to £6k now! Crazy! If it IS an SPS, it should have a P8 ecu....how does that fit in a BP subframe? Not only is it covered in shitty gold tat, it also appears to have a hand painted frame and wheels and appears to be generally in poor condition.
