I know it's a long shot, but... After some bad luck with a cam belt breaking 14 months and 800 miles after replacement... I'm looking for a vertical c head complete with valves and shafts etc... Failing that I'd consider a complete engine. Cheers.... Rich.
Crap. Unlucky mate, feel for you, you must be gutted, I would be. Were they Ducati ones? Any idea why? May be worth asking some of the old school Ducati mechanics. Rich at Luigi Moto, Ducati John, Geoff Baines and Bigglar(?) In Holland (?).
I had a 916sp drop a valve and chewed the head up. I took it to a firm in Northallerton they repaired it and fitted the new valve guides and he even sourced some one piece forged valves The four valves were cheaper than Ducati's 2 exhaust valves
Biggar had one, but the bike was still at the dealer, and I wanted to wait until someone I trusted (Ducati John) looked at it... 2 weeks later Biggar had sold the head
https://www.amacengineering.co.uk/ I used them because the 916sp head is different to the standard 916 head SP heads are like Rocking horse poo Even so they were extremely reasonably priced
I knew that, I still needed new valves because all four had gone. The actual repair welding etc of the head cost around the same as a second hand 916 head which would have still needed work on the valves to fit the bigger ones so it didn't cost me much more and it's still an original sp head
