  9. R. I had a Speciale due for October delivery but managed to get my deposit back. It will probably go on an R if the dealer will still speak to me!

  11. Good Question. It's true to say the colour scheme on both the Speciale and the Corse help significantly to how the bike looks and it does mask some of the more hideous plastic moulding and exposed frame. The standard red doesn't do the bike any favours in my opinion and I cannot see myself owning one in that guise. I guess it's a case of what is important to you. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to own one but I'm in no rush with what is out there at the moment. I'm sure the bike will get a makeover at some point and hopefully it will look so much better.

For me I guess it's one of these two options.

Do you want the bike to have the best chance of a decent residual come sale time. If this is the case it may be that the Speciale with it's limited run of 1,500 will do that, if not straight away, but in the future. Either way you'll want to keep the mileage down. Quick look on Ebay shows a few for £35k and one at £38.5k.

The other is do you want to use the bike and have pretty much a bike which is 90% of that of the Speciale but with arguably a better paint scheme and save £9k or what ever it is.

I was offered the Speciale at the time of it's release, but for £35k I wasn't convinced it was the bike for me. Probably couldn't get insured for it in any case. My mate says I should get one but it didn't make me feel like I did when I saw the Anniversario, in that case I just had to have one. As there is now a V4S with the Corse paint scheme and not red (blasphemy I hear you scream), this, I believe will fill the gap between the standard V4S and the Speciale nicely and this is the one I would probably go for......when it's refreshed....and when I start to like it more....I'll have a good look on Saturday. :upyeah:

  12. Shhh, not a word, but there's always another dealer who will very kindly take your £35k off you. Keep it to yourself. ;)

  13. Do you not think it looks better than the red? Even just a bit?

  14. I would go so far as to say the multi ds1000 is a far more attractive bike in red, than the red v4
