What music are you listening to ?

  1. I love 'em.

I was at the gig at Birmingham Uni in may 1980. I never understood at the time why "depression" could be so devastating to someone, let alone coupled with epilepsy and public visibility.

I now understand the depression, although each suffer's experiences are unique, I am sure.

However, on a more positive note, JD left us with two albums, both of which are awesome and evocative of their time. Still sound good today too.

  5. Sat in the sun in my new lounge listening to the whole of Pink Floyd's Meddle album. Waiting for my best mates and biking buddies to arrive from Liverpool. We are going to have a few days of blokey time in London and around the area before the serious biking trip to Spain in June. I think I'm going to like this retirement!!!!

  6. Saw Floyd perform that at Earls Court about '73. We had gone to see Bowie the week before(Aladdin Sane tour) and a second night of Floyd had just been announced, we got tickets 4 rows from the front direct from the box office. The dry ice/smoke while Echoes was performed was so dense I couldn't see my hand if I put my arm out in front of me.

  13. Red hot Chili Peppers, One Hot Minute. not their best album but the only one I didn't have on vinyl.........until today. Bloody Ebay!!

I saw them when this album was released at Brixton and bought the teeshirt. I wore it at WDW2002 and Ben Bostrum commented on it when we were walking round the pits.
Ducati had arranged a ride out to Imola to see Santana on the Sunday evening but the night before(2 day festy) had Muse, RHCP and Chemical Brothers on the bill, much more like it. We went on the factory/museum tour and then on to Imola, got in free and got back to our hotel about 4am. Highlight of WDW for me.

  15. David Bowie, Diamond Dogs, EMI vinyl 1990, arrived today. Been after this for a while, a bit rare and a bit collectable, the cover is the uncensored 'genital' version, which is probably why collectors want it. I got a copy from ebay B.I.N. for £9.99 post free, and its mint. I've got most of the 1990 EMI reissues, they're on thin vinyl and most come with a couple of bonus tracks some of which are crap demo's or from a different era, the worst is a really rough accoustic demo of Ziggy on the Ziggy album. The 2 bonus tracks on this LP are ok tho.
