  1. Try this one, Char - Magazine, Shot By Both Sides

The contrast between the musical style and "Skid" Jensens's lack of style is delightful! :upyeah:

  2. That's often the case. You remember and like the exact music you listened to way back then but you don't necessarily like music from that era that is "new" to you.

  3. love the music of my teens and after, punk, mod , rock, alternative, modern? well i love green day, but hey bought there first album in 94, quite like mumford & sons and bought there album which is quite good, my 4 teenagers listen to music i have never heard off, really dont care for n dubz or all that stuff, quite happy to listen to my CDs in my van, the jam, stranglers, the who, the levelers, pogues, green day, ac/dc, joy division ,madness and radio 2 , live in the dark ages, yep! , open mind when modern music is worth listening too, yep, but rarely

  5. The Skids were hilarious. Saw them in Oxford. Spirit of the age, they were still spotty little youths. Stuart Adamson's guitar and Jobson's dancing and incomprehensible vocals - what wasn't to like?

  6. Good heavens, I'd forgotten all about this one! WTH?

I'm a big, big fan of Murray's other famous offering ...

Pop trivia: Murray is the brother of Anthony Stewart Head, he of the coffee commercials and Buffy TVS.

  10. Thanks for reminding me of the Groundhogs. Soldier was one of my favourite tracks when I was a teenager.

  12. Love Chumbawamba. Completely misunderstood them at the time.

  13. David Bowie, new album out next week being streamed on itunes. Its pretty good.

  14. Looking at a Soul compilation on the Beeb. Brilliant. They have just played Ann Peebles Bouncing Back from a 1993 programme - fantastic! Never heard of her.

There is something about horn punctuation in soul and reggae music which is just phenomenal. I can't get enough of a good horn phrase.
