Has anyone weighed their bog standard 898? With a full fuel tank. Is 192kg the true figure? Tried weighing mine using bathroom scales; rear tyre on scales then front, but front weight exceeded my scales 100kg limit. Ta.
I'd be interested to weigh my V4S when I've finished getting it where I want. I reckon I'll have lopped ~15KG's off it's as built weight when I'm finished. Where can you get your bike accurately weighed??
I weighed mine and it was 182,9 kg (front 91,3 kg, back 91,6 kg) and that's with about half a tank of fuel, Termignoni exhaust and li-on battery.
Weighed mine with full tank at Dealers. Rear 94kg, front 103kg. So 197kg. Possibly that is +/- 1kg. Accuracy of scales uncertain. But rear was very close to my bathroom scales reading.
Also, just realised I was talking about the 959, which I always forget is a little heavier than the 899 (which I just checked as officially being 169kg dry and 193kg wet)
Hmmm, this thread has inspired me to weigh my V4S. Where do you weigh them? How much fuel are you supposed to have in? I think the SG of petrol is about 0.73 so easy enough to work out.
I think the tank is supposed to be full. A lot of people use bathroom scales to weigh the front and then the back, ideally with a same height (as the scales) spacer (plank of wood or similar) under the wheel not being weighed to keep the bike level.
The Mrs would go spare if she caught me putting the bike on the bathroom scales They're probably made by Christian Le Bouton or similar. I'm off to Cornerspeed soon. I'll ask Neil if he's got any scales... not bathroom though
