Demo Helmets

Yep, you need a demo helmet!

 

What size and what bike... but its almost certainly nosier than GT air on a naked...

I have both in a Large... use GT Air or the Scrambler and the Tour X4 on the Multi (or at least I did until it was killed)

The Tour X4 is too noisy and too hard work on the neck on the Scrambler - but no issue on the Multi.

 

The arai's tours seem to be more for smaller round shape heads and as such seem to encourage noise if you have a longer face

 

At the risk of stating the obvious, helmets are expensive and until you try one there is no way of knowing its suitability. Maybe we could set up a thread where members are able to demo other members helmets ( stop sniggering at the back children) . I`d be happy for someone to try mine subject to a replacement value deposit and them confirming in writing pre test that they dont have scabies or head lice, are not Vegan and did not vote to remain in the EU.

 

This is where my invention the ‘Wind Reproduction Test Box’ will come in useful.
Before you buy you choose the helmet like, place it on your bonce and insert your head in to the ‘WRTB’.
You can regulate the wind speed manually up to a heady 70 mph.
Moving your head around will create the forces similar to that found when riding and also enable the user to judge the amount of associated wind resistance/ noise.

 

I have been working on one too, I call mine the Wind And Noise Kaleidoscope or WANK for short. Struggling to come up with a name for the production company though, any ideas ?

 

How about Tomorrow’s Inventions Today,
or TIT for short, they seem the perfect match!

 

I wonder if we could combine the two and have TITWANK ? With the advertising line " Titwank, making your helmet dreams come true ! " Perfect.

I found the tour X4 no trouble at all for my neck noise on my old HyperSP and my Shoei X Spirit 2 was far noisier on my Multi

 

Wow steady on a bit there.
We need to ease our way in slowly, find a good lubricant, grease a few palms before we take this over the salty void.
