Took the Multistrada out for my first ride since surgery 3 months ago. Dosed up on pain killers half an hour before heading out and re-attached the Wild Ass air cushion to the saddle in anticipation that it was going to be an uncomfortable ride. Managed about 70 miles with a couple of stops for a stretch and a stop at Loomies for a hot drink. Had a little bit of mental rain on the visor for the first 20 or so miles but it was not unleasant and it didn’t feel cold. Yes my sacrum complained but it’s a cost I was prepared to pay just to get back out on a bike, 3 months is a long time when you usually ride most days. If the roads remain clean tomorrow, just might take the Panigale out Andy
Shopping for car and doggie stuff. Several bikes out tiddling around. 12deg so weather not bad for it. A bit jealous
Poked myself in the eye, by accident before you ask. Eye bloody painful and streaming, worst of all not sure i will be able to watch Liverpool v Arsenal!!!
Today I have done fuck all... went to work for 5 mins just to hand over keys... Now I'm drinking... ordered a pizza about an hour ago.. was supposed to be a 20 min delivery time. They have just called me to tell me the have no bbq sauce for my dippers... the can give me garlic mayo, which, according to the chap is lovely. I asked if I had a choice.. he said yes.. so I said I will have bbq... he said no bbq....
Went out on the Scrambler with some Ducati Manchester boys for a few hours. I was meant to to be meeting them in Holme Moss carpark, but it was blowing a hoolie! I stayed there for about 10 mins waiting for them but I was worried the bike (with me on it) would be blown over so I rode down into Holme for some shelter and texted the boys to meet me there. When they finally dropped into Holme we set off on a great ride. In fact it was a 4 counties tour - Cheshire , Derbyshire, Lancashire and West Yorkshire all in a few hours, taking in the Albion Farm cafe for a fried breakfast, Snake Pass, Ladybower reservoir, The Strines, and the Old Bridge hotel in Holmfirth for a coffee. Brilliant days riding, despite the wind first thing, with great friends. Bike is now washed, dried and put away till next time!
I've avoided poking myself in the eye so I can watch Liverpool beat Arsenal at Anfield. Hopefully. Steve
