  1. hi guys, having just stripped and put back together my rear hub i have just read that the shims either side of the sprocket carrier are one sided ...i could not tell if there was a straight or beveled side to them ...these sit on top of the large green o rings sat inside the carrier what is the purpose of this and what would happen if i got them wrong ...much thanks IMG_3388.JPG

  2. Where did you read that? No mention of them being one sided in the parts manual

  3. Possibly slightly grooved to allow the 'O' ring to sit in them maybe, without looking at them it difficult to know unless someone else throwing some light upon.

  4. thats what i thought then i watched a clip on youtube on a multistrada which is the same ?? ...i did look while apart and could not tell the difference

  5. the shims on the caliper hanger are identical and flat. doesn't matter how they go on. The "handed" spacers are on the sprocket carrier side. One is a thicker spacer that sits behind the carrier, the other a washer under the nut.
