I was queueing to pay for my petrol at Tesco this morning and when I got up to the till I said “Pump one please” then it struck me - “ I wonder if that’s what her Majesty says to Phillip”.
Spent the evening tidying up a few photos from a friend's daughter's wedding - clearly calling yourself a wedding photographer doesn't require any great photographic or post processing skill.
Spent the day getting caught up on little chores around the house. We're getting our basement ready for some remodeling next month. My sister sent me an update from Facebook (I am not a Facebook member) about a Sport division snocross rider that crashed at the races last Saturday. He came up short on a triple jump and went head first over the handlebars with the sled more or less pile driving him down to the ground. It was obvious by his lack of movement that he was seriously injured. Well, he broke a collar bone in two places, suffered a concussion, small break in the lower back, air pockets around a lung, and internal bleeding. All that and he managed a thumbs up as they drove him away on a stretcher. Better yet, he has since had surgery and the collar bone is stabilized with a plate and pins. Prognosis is good for all other injuries and with a few months to heal he should be fine.
Been in the garage this morning to get the Panigale and Monster ready for Italia picking them up at lunchtime and taking them in for service... Took the Panigale off trickle charge, removed the failings and put the key in the ignition... The air filled with anticipation and excitement of hearing it fire up to be pulled out of the garage. Ignition on and all was good, hit the loud button and feck all but a few 'clicks' Scrolled through the menu and you've guessed it - F**king Battey looks like it's knackered!! The sinking heart feeling wasn't made any better by Mrs Mallinson strolling in to the garage, uncovering the monster, taking it off the stands and it filling the air with the sound of thunder immediately... Followed by her walking away rather smug that yet again, the Monster shows the superbike how it should be done On the plus side, at least it will have a new battery on in preparation for coming out to play in spring
Re the Smart Motorway announcement just ordered 8x2 numberplates (down from 9x3) for the RSV4 and my Zed.... fuck'em.

I've run external cat 6 to the summerhouse and workshop just in case. At worst it will have a sonos speaker plugged into it.
Vacuum packed a bunch of ham leftovers. Made 16 Bean and Ham soup. Renewed plate registrations on the motorcycles, boat, travel trailers and a utility trailer. Tomorrow's plan is to renew my drivers license, hoping to pass the vision test one more time without glasses. Last but not least, bought a $5 cup of Turtle Mocha coffee and have been sitting in the car, in the coffee shop parking lot using their internet to post stuff here (with Eminem CD playing)
Yesterday we sold our bed. New one won’t arrive until a week before we are (hopefully) due to move. So we’ve have to use the spare beds/rooms. The bed I’m sleeping in is firm. Very firm. Aka fucking uncomfortable. SWMBO has bagged the most comfortable spare bed.
Well show her who is boss..... use your moderation and negotiation skills... bad back... old... have to work... trouble sleeping... Or just go and buy a matress topper which will be an easier route and more successful outcome...
Agree on the mattress topper Dunelm do a good one £100 that will do you for now It’s changed my bed from hard to comfortable
