Vehicle Electrics Help

  1. Nothing to do with Ducati :( but are there any vehicle electrics experts out there?

    The heater fan on my van (MB Vito) has stopped working on anything other than max power, no.6 in this case. Select any lower number on the dial and it doesn't come on. So I'm thinking dodgy connections behind the knob, but for positions 1-5 to all fail simultaneously is weird. Not only that but the same thing happened on my old van (VW Transporter), just before I sold it - max power only.

    I've searched on the web but can't find anything relating to it.

  2. I don't know about the Vito but a lot of vehicles use a resistor pack to vary the fan speed and if it packs up you get those kind of symptoms.

  4. Yep variable resistor pack shot. sometimes it is part of the speed selector switch so easy to replace.

  8. never changed one on a vito. i gave it a quick google, plenty on it re locations
