Hi, Following on from the small off I had a few weeks ago I now get the error message "Error, gear sensor ". Bike won't go into gear. I read here for a 1299 that a small piece of metal got stuck between the sensors. Guy cleaned them and it worked again. Has anyone else got that error and is there a home fix? Bike is a 2013 Multistrada. Cheers!
You need a new sensor, around £100 and a special socket set*.... Or an injector socket https://www.halfords.com/workshop-t...ced-30-piece-metric-vortex-socket-set-1-4-3-8 It's behind the engine, between the rear wheel and under the rear cylinder. It works by changing the resistance based on how far in the pin is pushed. The pin is on a cam inside the gear box. They wear and it's a known service issue. With the right socket set the change is easy, no need to drop the oil out. The hardest thing is routing the wires under the side panel and seat. https://andyw-inuk.smugmug.com/Moto...a-1200/Multistrada-MTS1200-diagrams/i-qtJ2Tr7 http://www.motorcycleinfo.co.uk/index1a45.html?fa=contentGeneric.wuyjdrgpolhdvlck&pageId=1199506 I helped with some of the stuff on the website above (abs modifications)..... If you found it useful give me a spanner or love emoji....
Check the connector at the ECU that controls all this stuff. How's the battery voltage and charge voltage?
Fuel sensor error is now showing as well as the others. ECU, don't really know where it is but everything looks ok under the seat. Charge is12.1V. I did spray FS365 over after washing last week. First time to use it on the bike. Washed it again and have it on the charger.
