Top Yoke Alignment

  1. I fitted some Helibars to my 999 yesterday, in the hope of relieving the pressure on my ageing neck muscles.
I naturally followed the instructions but they were distinctly hazy about making sure everything was properly aligned when it came to refitting the top yoke.
I've not removed and refitted a top yoke before, so thought at the time that if just follow the instructions, It'll be fine.
However, I'm now thinking I was far too naïve and should have checked the alignment as the split in the centre cap is now on the piss and I'm sure it wasn't before.
My thinking is to loosen the three clamp bolts, rotate the bars to get the split to line up and then retighten.
    Will this work??

  2. The split in the centre cap thing? I don’t think mine has ever been straight. Torque down then back off by 30 odd degrees.

  3. Looking at the w/s manual, there's no mention of alignment there and the centre cap thing has to be torqued down, so never will line up. I've not disturbed it, so it should be fine.
Looks like I was just bring paranoid...
    Thanks
