Bobbin Removal

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by West Cork Paul, May 22, 2019.

  1. Reading FirePhil's thread on his 916SPS refresh and seeing what he did with his disks I thought I'd dismantle my disks while they were off my 748, but I can't for the life of me see how to separate the bobbins. His have a C-circlip on the rear, which when removed allows the 2 parts of the bobbin to be separated and removed which then separates the disk rotor from the rotor carrier. As you can see, mine doesn't have a circlip. How do I get these apart? TIA

  4. I think port meant the other side of the disc and not the disc on the other side :D

  5. Noobie you should have gone to Specsavers;). It is the other side of the disk. The first photo was the inside of the disk, removed from the bike, the second photo was the outside of the disk whilst on the bike. Unfortunately, it appears I cannot just remove a circlip to disassemble these ones, I've got to drill the buggers out:confused:
