10mm engine support bolts wanted for 1994 monster engine. Front wheel spindle 1994 900ss carbs 1994 Front tank strap 900ss 1994 and tank rear bolt. thanks
A 94 should be 20mm but that doesn't mean there wont be parts match specials coming from the factory with 17mm older axles, crash repairs with older bits or unsold '93 bikes registered new in '94 :/
Cranker V2 is sending me the part to check (much appreciated!) I havent been able to tell from the manual etc about the size of part. Im also unsure what year the forks are from, they might not be from that model frame. The part looks good for the diagram but no other info is given.
Take photo of the side of the forks. And another of the front wheel hub where the speedo drive sits (make sure the drive is out)....I can tell you which axle you need if you want a working speedo. AL
I have just disposed of a Brembo SS wheel stamped 94 which was a 17mm job. But I have three more stamped 94,95 & 96 which are 20mm versions. AL
That's why I asked him to post a pic.......because the earlier Brembo wheel for carbed SSs is different to the later one.
If it screws into the fork leg its the smaller diameter isnt it? All the 583 versions to a least 98 I've seen have this set up, maybe the 900 has very different forks. Also assume hollow spindle if larger?
I keep posting this and now I'm getting fed up but.......... For the carbed SS 600-750-900, there are two types of Brembo wheel that basically look identical, but they aren't. The early ones had the 17mm axle which could be changed to the larger axle by changing the bearings and spacer......but the larger speedo drive will not fit the earlier wheel and vice versa. Neither will the speedo drive grease seal change over. The speedo drive housing machining in the hub is different............You can visually spot the difference because the brake disc locating rib on the hub is thinner on the later wheels.....Later wheels it is approx 3-4mm; earlier ones it is about 6mm. Discs are interchangeable. The axle bosses that sit in the fork legs have the same O/D If you are DD-ing, then it obviously doesn't matter. AL
Only needs to look of the fork leg is a screw fit or hollow axle tho, doesn't he. Its an axles not a wheel he's looking for, and if he has a different set of wheels then he's got to change either forks or wheel hasn't he? having had an early SS and several carbed monsters they all had the smaller, screw fit axle on the marzo forks. Later injected had hollow front and could accept the later, lighter wheels. But dunno about the larger engine versions hence the question...I think most were fitted with Showa so hollow front but not sure
Right....forget the injected SS for starters. I made it clear I was referring to the carbed SS...........Now I'll spell it out easily for you..... It doesn't matter flying **** which suspension forks they were fitted with....either the Showa or the Marzocchi had the same diameter holes in them for the axle (600/750/900) I have got the forks, wheels, axles and speedo drives for both forks etc here in my workshop. Yes he can look at his fork leg to see what I/D boss is in the left leg.............but as he doesn't know what forks he as got (which is why I asked him to post a photo) that may not tell him what he needs to know........plus if he needs an axle, just maybe he hasn't got the boss in the left leg. He needs to look at the bl**dy wheel if he isn't going racing, otherwise his speedo drive may not fit or he will get the wrong axle. OK now?
Right thx Mr R, that clears it up...I was comfusing the later 25mm hollow one thinking there were 2 not 2 size spindles. Arb....I just ride em you know...dont give a feck how they all work...amd while you're up there have a look around and check you dont have piles ;-)
Bradders......I forgot you raced them from which I assume that as you don't have a speedo, you wouldn't have known about the two different wheels... .....but if as you are saying you just ride them and didn't know; then I'm surprised you went ahead and commented on the thread. .....either that or you can't read because I have posted the info enough times (on Ducatisti and here) FFS. AL
Thanks for help, will post some pics tonight. The main problem is i havent been able to give year since it was a box of bits. Ill try to take some sizes tonight and get some more info!
