  1. Wow you have a disc brake & LED speedo! Mines clock work - well the speedo is - there aren't any brakes...

  2. Disc front and back and very light, they do not come up for sale very often, popular in oz apparently with landowners but they are called the truckman over there I believe and possibly not road legal, super sherpa here and Japan though

  3. Get it sorted I’ll pick you both up and we can go get dirty :)

  4. It really looks like a great bike, and these guys have good things to say:

Suzuki still flog my bike in Africa and South America. They started selling them in 1969! At some point in the future it should look something like this

I have the picture so I can work out how the bits fit back together.

  7. I wish I had kept mine, but I wish I had kept others more and I've always moved up the food chain everytime the cash has come in. I can't say I miss it, but just like the older stuff and for what I sold it for, I could have stuck it in the corner of the garage. I regret selling the Imola Yellow S3 more. Loved that car.

This is the one I genuinely regret. Minter. :sob:

  8. You seem a decent bloke but putting up this thread I don’t think is doing yourself any favours, you agreed to sell it someone at a price then changed your mind because you felt you was too fond of it to part with it and the prospective buyer to his credit as a gentleman says ok well if you change your mind let him know as he’d still be interested, then as soon as he agrees not to go ahead with it you say you’ll give it your mate to sell and ask more money for it and you are not now devastated about selling it merely that you used that as an excuse to get out of the deal you made ,if I was the prospective buyer I’d be peed off about being lied to , and if the shoe was on the other foot and you were the buyer you’d feel the same I’m sure , as said I’m not getting at anybody but if you read your postings back yourself it just doesn’t come across well

  9. I feel your pain. I sold an immaculate RVF400 to a mate a few years ago.

    Still regret it

  10. Read through the thread....regreted selling my last hyper - the one i have now is the one thats staying....waiting for some dosh to come in this year hopefully...if it does ill go hunt out a second hand evo sp motor, strip and rebuild it from the ground up so its immaculate and keep as a spare....im way past having to have the latest and greatest...same with my z1000 - this one is the one im keeping..along with the rsv4. The 525 supermoto will go to whoever happens to offer half decent cash for it....but i expect that'll end up staying or getting broken for spares one or the other...have to advertise it first but just cant be bothered with the shit that comes with it...especially advertising a full blown supermoto...fucking theives and hoodies...

  11. Okay, closing, I've reached deep into my empathy book and have an opinion,

If you need the money, take what's been offered, if you don't need the money, keep the bike and stop ya whinging.

    I hope that helped :D

Another empathy service offered by the noobie foundation :upyeah::D

  12. Pm me your phone number, if you would like a chat I can call you we can discuss this, not a problem at all, it’s very unlikely I can help with any problems outside of this potential bike sale...I think it’s pretty black and white the lad could have come bought it and took it but he didn’t, no deposit, no agreement face to face, no paperwork checked, just him and his dad poking it then we are in to tx message land after 24 hrs, various things were discussed yes, but no deposit was taken, I was not welcoming really been honest we were up and down on this, no phone calls came I’m in the generation of phone calls hence me ringing the fella twice updating him on the state of play, the fellas hardly said goodbye in my house in fact the dad didn’t say fuck all on leaving.

To be fair I have just come in it’s Saturday night/Sunday morning, the bike is for sale but not at the price I recently advertised it at, I did not hide behind a keyboard or alternative I rang the guy twice I apologised profusely that I had had a change of heart, I repeat no deposit was taken and no interest was shown by the potential buyer at viewing absolutely fuck all.

I’m kind of pissed off if they had left a deposit/agreement job would be done but no they went off looking elsewhere then found nothing near it quality wise, so then tx message started, the bike is going up for sale at more money as it is worth more and the people who very nearly bought it didn’t.

Reference your first point, yes I am decent, a lot more decent than the last Rvf buyer who bought off me pretending to want to keep it forever then stuck a £1k on top on sale a few days after, I’m crystal clear hence the phone call updates, I just went cold and am glad I did.

  13. all above board. seems pretty fair to me.
i absolutely hate selling my stuff. i tend to vet the purchiser as much as they vet the thing that i am selling.
    got money? check
    mug? check. :D
i have 5 cars, nothing terribly special, 4 fiats and VW. though i would probably sell the tiguan and at the drop of a hat. one of them i have bought and sold three times. once i start putting some work in to them, i get v,attached to that lump of metal they really only are.(if only i could tell myself that more often).

  15. Know just how people feel about selling treasured possessions (bikes) that's how I've ended up with 11 bikes stored in the garage, the house and at work. Even now although I have promised myself and openly declared to everyone that I won't buy any more until I've sorted out the house and it's rapidly subsiding extension I'm still planning to visit Ducati Glasgow and have another look at the F4 RC in there on my way back from holiday next Sat.
Recently sold my TransAm which I had owned for 28 years and although I knew I would never drive it again after 18 years of not being used it was very hard seeing it get carried away.

  16. Oh no - you sold your Trans Am?

  17. I sold the 1198 yesterday and as I said it was in my opinion a steal, I didn’t feel up to letting two bikes in one day go in similar fashion, the rvf has been in my corridor for maybe 18 months so have not seen it really, yesterday it looked fantastic ticking over in the garden, I just sat gawping thinking I can’t, or actually no I can but It’s going be a lot more money this is not about £150 it’s more like £1000 that in my world is a lot of money, I have earned nothing since last Saturday, let’s remember I didn’t take a deposit and was reluctant all the way through the conversations as I didn’t want to accept one penny less, also other things got my back up a bit it was like everything needed sugar coating when it was a great opportunity without sugar, let’s also remember I have apologised more than once on the phone that is an admission of I have done something wrong, made a mistake, there was an opportunity to do a deal face to face in my house it wasn’t taken and it would have stood, then it’s tx messages back and forth not my way of doing things, my incoming bike was viewed, discussed on the day, outlined my intentions, and have called at least 4 or 5 times since updating him, he is getting the bars narrowed for me too and putting new grips on, he basically respects I have done everything the right way, I made a genuine error on the rvf but hey nobody is dead or dying nothing got stolen no acid is getting thrown, my potential buyer can also take a lesson forward, in future when he finds a good deal do something about it quickly or it can disappear for a variety of reasons, they must have known when getting back in the car they must have been talking about the bike yet they obviously went off to continue the search, also the preferred method of communication bizarrely was messages, I messaged on Friday teatime got no response until Saturday mid morning no way on God’s earth was that not seen on Friday, if you are super keen on something you have your phone by your side, that pissed me off even more and have no doubt other avenues were been explored they were looking after their own interests exactly what I’m doing, even at 6k it would be a tough sale as I love it but I’d get over it but the good thing now it won’t be here in my house staring at me.

  19. You didn't need to even spell it out/enclose details Carl - it's not really our business. Now you have explained how buyer and son weren't that committed, giving you the impression that they were still doing you a favour possibly, then depending on exactly what was said in the conversation including "you can have it" , I would have done the same as you. There have been many renegs i've heard of which came despite deposit left and it's not as if you did this.
