Can Anyone Pls Recommend A Cctv System For Me

  1. Hi

We’re going away soon for a while and as many of you know I’ve troublesome neighbours can anyone recommend a home cctv system that doesn’t need cables running everywhere, I’d like one with say 3 cameras for outdoor use and one I can just review if something has occurred not one that alerts me every second of the day eg when someone just walks past my house..

    Appreciate your advise thanks

  4. I’ve got 8 camera’s, all hard wired but can be accessed from an app on my phone . Whats your wifi signal like? If its good then maybe look at Ring, they do door bells and CCTV that you can access from an app, theres a yearly subscription but probably a lot cheaper than having CCTV installed.

  5. Wired can be hidden and better quality

    I have 3 X hik vision cams
And two wireless arlo cams the Arlo do the job but the others r so clear

IP cameras r powered off the network cables and easily hidden
Wireless ones r ok but battery life can be an issue without solor panels which are another £100 quid

    Depends on budget

  10. I have put a ring camera with a double spot light on my bike garage/store/lean to not/shed thingy, its terrific!, really clear, I have hard wired it to the nearest socket through the wall 240v so no batteries, you can choose the detection zone so no need to pick up passer by’s, its a bit like custom cropping a picture, you can turn off alerts, night vision is also very good.

You can hook up multipes onto the app I think, oh and you can talk and listen through it so you can tell someone to f off

  11. I replaced my outside lights with Netatmo Presence they work off the original power cables for your outside lights and they are wifi. Hi def camera and I can access it anywhere on my phone or laptop.

  12. I can agree that the Ring Pro is good, albeit the cameras are expensive.
Do you have Amazon alexa at home?

  15. At previous house we acquired a 'Swan' (cheap from Costco apparently) system, had hard wired cameras but were good at both day and night vision all tied to a hard drive recording system. The previous owner had a fall out with neighbours and wanted 'evidence'!? Don't know if it would alert you remotely but cheap systems do seem to be pretty good these days

  16. Purchased a pair of RING floodlight cameras today... installation tomorrow all being well..

Thank you for all your advice.. except @Exige ‘s. x
