  2. If americanism spreads they will remove the statue & try to erase him from history. It'll be like the scene out of the sci-fi serenity as the children are been taught. And all but one fall asleep under the control of...(go watch the film it has some quite interesting threads aka virus spreading tactics of government agencies)

    Interesting place, Trier, and crystallises the fact the Germans have been persecuting and murdering Jews for centuries: it’s not just a 1900’s thing ;)

  13. Persecution of Jews is not just a German thing.

    The Tsars Pogroms in the 19th Century were severe.

    In 1290 King Edward I expelled all Jews from England through the Edict of Expulsion.

  15. Went to the oldest remaining Jewish site yesterday, 1000’s, and it’s a shop front and all that’s low-fat of the oldest Jewish ‘church’ in Germany. During the Black Death, they were blamed for its spreading and rounded up and burnt alive. Few survived. Then again in the 1600’s rounded up and killed...

    But the Dom and it’s connected church is the most intriguing worship place I’ve ever visited (and my wife loves them, so it’s a fair few in a few countries!) worth the visit alone imho
